Our Monterey Collection of pre-assembled Newell staircases are manufactured from solid timber and have been engineered for simple on-site installation. They are delivered with fully assembled flights, newell posts fitted, handrails fitted and drilled for balusters.

Stage 1:
Construction of Top Flight

The top post is glued and bolted to the pre-assembled top flight and it is then lifted into position. Props are used to hold top flight of stairs in position for stage 2.

Stage 2:
Installation of
Bottom Flight

The landingtop post is glued and bolted to the bottom end of the pre-assembled top flight. The bottom flight is then moved into position and glued and bolted to the landing post. The landing bearers are then bolted to the wal and the landing is slid into postion. Apron pieces are then nailed into the wall to protect the wall from marking.

Stage 3:
Installation of Balustrade

The doweled balusters are then glued into the pre-drilled holes in the strings on the top flight.
The predrilled handrail is then glued and bolted into postion
The bottom post and balusters are then glued into position.

 

Stage 4:
Completion of
 Bottom Flight

The predrilled handrail is then glued and bolted into postion on the bottom flight.
Once this is done your new staircase has been completed and is ready for painting and carpeting.
